Grave cleaning in Kraków is a service for people who cannot look after the grave of their loved ones themselves: they live far away, work during the week, no longer have the strength to bend over the slab, or want the grave to be cared for before an important date. You choose the day, give us the cemetery and the location of the grave, and we do the rest. You do not need to be there.
The cleaning is done by a CleanAI employee, not a subcontractor. She washes the headstone, slab and lettering with soft brushes and an agent safe for stone. We take away withered flowers, old wreaths and burnt-out candles, so nothing is left by the grave to carry out. At the end we light a small candle.

The extended package is for granite and marble only; there is none for an earth grave. Impregnation and paste are care, not polishing: the stone is not ground down, only protected so that water and dirt soak in less. Candles and flowers are added only to a cleaning. Outside Kraków travel costs +30 PLN or +50 PLN depending on distance; we do not travel further than 30 km from the city border. The minimum order is 120 PLN and every package costs more, so you can order a single grave.

Types of dirt on a headstone and how we deal with them
The result depends on the stone, the age of the growth and whether the grave has been washed regularly. Below are realistic expectations.

The extended package is care: impregnation limits how much water and dirt soak in, and the paste adds shine. It does not replace grinding or polishing.

When to order a grave cleaning
Most orders come in before All Saints' Day. Orders for cleaning before 1 November are accepted until 29 October, so it is better not to leave it to the last minute.
Outside November people order a cleaning before the anniversary of a death, the name day or birthday of a loved one, before Christmas and Easter. In spring it is worth washing off what the winter left behind: deposits, moss and rotten leaves.
If the headstone is cracked or the letters are crumbling, washing alone is not enough. Send a photo on WhatsApp or by e-mail and we will quote the restoration separately.
Between visits: how to look after a grave
- Take away withered flowers and burnt-out candles on every visit, as they leave streaks
- Choose candles with a cover or lid, so less wax drips onto the slab
- Wash the stone with a soft brush or sponge, never with a wire brush
- Do not wash marble with vinegar or acidic cleaners, as it goes dull
- Do not use a pressure washer on sandstone; the jet washes the soft stone away
- In autumn clear leaves as they fall, before they rot on the slab
Grave cleaning in Kraków: cemeteries and travel
We travel to all cemeteries within the city: Cmentarz Rakowicki, Salwatorski and Podgórski, the cemeteries in Grębałów, Batowice, Bieżanów, Prokocim and Bronowice, as well as smaller parish cemeteries. Travel within Kraków is included.
Outside Kraków we work in towns up to 30 km from the city border, for example in Wieliczka, Skawina, Niepołomice, Zabierzów and Mogilany. In that case we add +30 PLN or +50 PLN depending on distance.
At large cemeteries such as Rakowicki a grave is easy to miss among the sections, so we ask for the exact location and, if possible, a photo of the grave sent after ordering on WhatsApp or by e-mail.
Headstone washing and regular grave care in Kraków
Headstone washing in Kraków is manual work for us: soft brushes and an agent safe for stone, without grinding. On granite and marble you can choose the extended package, in which after washing we apply impregnation and a shine paste so that water and dirt soak in less. Real polishing and renewing letters are quoted separately from a photo.
Regular grave care in Kraków at CleanAI means 3, 6 or 12 visits a year with a discount off the cleanings: −10%, −15% or −20%.
