Window cleaning Krakow by CleanAI covers glass, frames, sills, fittings and handles. We work in apartments, houses and premises, removing dust, rain marks and streaks, with the scope agreed before booking.
A flat with six standard windows and a balcony door usually takes 2–3 hours from the door to the door. We need access to water, a socket, and about a metre of free floor in front of each window.
You count the windows by type, pick the state of the glass, a date and any add-ons. The price appears at once and the confirmation arrives by e-mail.
The day before we ask about the floor, the type of windows and whether every sash opens. A phone photo in the chat is enough for us to book the right slot.
We bring squeegees, washers, demineralised water, a ladder and detergents. The floor and the sill are covered, furniture under the window is moved aside or sheeted.
First we vacuum the drainage channel and the hinges dry, then wash the frames and sashes. The glass comes last, because dirt from the frame always runs downwards.
The washer spreads the solution, the squeegee takes it off in one pass, microfibre polishes the edges and corners. Hard spots come off with a blade on wet glass.
We walk the windows with you and look at them from an angle — streaks are only visible from the side. Corrections are made on the spot. You pay after the job: cash, BLIK, card or online.

The rate applies to every window in the order. After a renovation we scrape paint and mortar specks off the glass — silicone and expanding foam we leave in place.
Minimum window cleaning order: 120 zł, about three standard windows.

Times for a flat with six windows and a balcony door, one cleaner. Glass after a renovation takes about half as long again, because every paint speck is removed separately.
10–15 min
Arrival and walk-round
Counting the windows, checking which sashes open, covering the floor and the sills.
30–50 min
Frames and fittings
Drainage channels, hinges, seals and profiles: the dirt goes before the glass is touched.
1–2 h
Glass and polishing
Washing and squeegeeing, edges and corners dried, paint spots removed one by one.
5–10 min
Glass dry
Glass dries on its own within minutes; curtains can go back straight away.
The best result comes on a cloudy, windless day: in full sun the solution dries on the pane before the squeegee reaches it and leaves streaks you will not see while cleaning, only in the evening under a lamp.

Paint marks, dust

Dust and dirt
Updated:
Window cleaning is easiest to judge by the light: clean glass disappears, dirty glass keeps a grey veil over the room that nobody notices during the day until it is taken away. We clean the glass on both sides, the frames, the sashes, the fittings, the hinges and the handles, and we finish by polishing the edges and corners, because that is where water gathers and dries into streaks. The interior sill is part of the window price, not a separate line.
We work with a squeegee and a solution with low surface tension, without the alcohol that dries out the seals. The frame is washed before the glass, not after: otherwise dirt from the frame runs down onto clean glass with the first rain. Hard deposits — mortar, paint specks, adhesive left by masking tape — come off with a blade on wet glass, always at an angle and always after checking that the pane has no coating that a blade would scratch.
Our customers are people in blocks and old tenements before the holidays and after the pollen season, owners of short-let flats between guests, families after a move, and anyone who has just finished a renovation and ended up with paint-speckled panes. We travel to every district of Krakow and to Wieliczka, Skawina, Zielonki, Niepołomice and Zabierzów.
A window is not a window, so we do not charge an average price per piece. A bathroom fanlight and a floor-to-ceiling sliding pane are both one piece, yet one of them is four times the work. You count your own windows by type, and the state of the glass sets the rate for the whole order. We arrive with our own tools and detergents, travel inside Krakow is free, and you see the price before you book.
| Window type | Price | Time | What it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single-sash window (kitchen, bathroom) | 25 zł | 10–15 min | glass on both sides, frame, interior sill |
| Two-sash window (standard flat window) | 40 zł | 15–25 min | glass, frame, sashes, fittings, sill |
| Three-sash or large window | 60 zł | 25–35 min | glass, frame, sashes, fittings, sill |
| Balcony door / French window | 45 zł | 20–30 min | full-height pane on both sides, frame, threshold |
| Panoramic glazing / HS door | 25 zł/m² | 10–15 min/m² | charged by glass area, not by the number of sashes |
| Roof window (Velux) | 60 zł | 25–40 min | glass, frame, seal, interior reveal |
| Old wooden box window | 70 zł | 35–50 min | two frames separately, the space between the panes |
| Window after a renovation (per piece) | 60 zł | 25–40 min | the standard rate plus 50% |
| Outside window sill | 5 zł | 3–5 min | add-on, charged per sill |
| Mosquito net | 15 zł | 5–10 min | add-on: taken down, washed, hung back |
| Roller blind or venetian blind | 20 zł | 10–20 min | add-on, charged per piece |
| Glass balcony balustrade | 20 zł | 10–15 min | add-on, both sides of the pane |
| Balcony or loggia cleaning | 35 zł | 30–45 min | add-on: floor, railing, sill |
The minimum window order is 120 zł, roughly three standard windows — for a single window the travel alone costs more than the job. Glass that has been neglected, left through a winter or several seasons without cleaning, is charged +25%, glass after a renovation or build +50%, because that work takes a blade rather than a squeegee. Window cleaning can also be added to a flat cleaning as a per-window extra.
Several kinds of dirt end up on glass and each behaves differently. Honestly, below: what we remove as part of a normal clean, what needs the after-renovation rate, and what we leave alone rather than ruin the pane.
| Type of dirt | Result | How we do it |
|---|---|---|
| Dust, rain marks, pollen | very high | Standard cleaning: solution, squeegee, polished edges. |
| Finger marks and dog noses | very high | The detergent dissolves the grease, dry microfibre takes the rest. |
| Masking tape and sticker residue | high | The adhesive is softened, the remainder comes off with a blade on wet glass. |
| Paint specks and the milky film left by mortar | high | After-renovation rate: wet glass, blade at an angle, then washed again. |
| Bird droppings and insects on the frame | high | Soaked first, because dry removal scratches the glass, then washed like ordinary dirt. |
| Greasy film on a kitchen window | high | Degreaser on the frame and the glass, two passes instead of one. |
| Mortar set as hard as stone | medium | We take off what comes away safely and leave the rest rather than scratch the pane. |
| Silicone and expanding foam on the frame | not done | That is the builders' job: the solvents that remove it dull the profile and destroy the seal. |
| Glass clouded by cement or by age | not done | Damage to the surface itself; cleaning does not bring it back. |
| Scratches from dry scraping | not done | Irreversible, which is why we never use a blade on dry glass. |
If a renovation left a thick layer of mortar on the glass, tell us before the visit. We then plan more time and say plainly how much will actually come off before we start, rather than after the fact.
What counts is what you can see from the room: the number of sashes, the height of the pane and the construction of the frame. Here is the cheat sheet that lets you count your windows in the configurator in a minute.
| Window type | How to recognise it | How we count it |
|---|---|---|
| Single-sash window | One pane: kitchen, bathroom, pantry | Per piece, the cheapest item on the list |
| Two-sash window | Two sashes, the standard window in a block or a new build | Per piece, this is our base rate |
| Three-sash or large window | Three sashes, or a wide living-room pane | Per piece, about one and a half times a standard window |
| Balcony door and French window | A full-height pane, side-hung or tilting | Per piece, separate from the window next to it |
| Panoramic glazing and HS doors | A sliding wall onto a terrace, glass floor to ceiling | Per square metre of glass: sashes say nothing about the work here |
| Velux roof window | In the roof slope, pivoting on its axis | Per piece, dearer: overhead work and the interior reveal |
| Old wooden box window | A tenement window with two frames one behind the other | Per piece, the dearest: two frames and the gap between the panes |
| Glass balcony balustrade | Glass instead of a metal railing | An add-on per piece, cleaned on both sides |
Not sure which line your window belongs to? Count the sashes: one, two, three. An undivided pane wider than two metres goes in as panoramic glazing charged by area. We call before every visit anyway, so being one line out is not a problem — the price is confirmed before we arrive.
Window cleaning is cheap next to any other cleaning service, so the question is not the amount but the time and the risk. Three realistic options for a flat with six windows.
| Criterion | CleanAI | Private cleaner | Doing it yourself |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price for six windows | 40 zł per window, order from 120 zł | usually an hourly rate, 2–3 h | the cost of detergents and a squeegee |
| Your time | none, you just let us in | none, but the scope has to be agreed | half a day, usually a whole Saturday |
| Equipment | squeegees, demineralised water, blades | whatever is in the house | a sponge, newspaper, a supermarket spray |
| Streaks | polished edges, checked against the light | varies with the person | usually visible in the evening under a lamp |
| Frames and fittings | included in the window price | usually the glass only | skipped, because it is dull work |
| After a renovation | rate +50%, blade on wet glass | rarely, it is a different job | a high risk of scratching the glass |
| Paperwork | invoice, payment online or after the visit | usually cash with no document | — |
Twice a year is enough for most flats: in spring, after the winter, when road salt and exhaust leave a film on the glass, and in autumn, after the pollen season and the storms that leave their characteristic runs. On a busy street, near tram tracks or beside a building site, three times a year, because the grey veil is back within a quarter.
Book before the event rather than after it: before the holidays, before photographing a flat for sale, before a tenant moves in, before guests arrive. Short-let flats we clean between stays, because clean glass is the first thing a guest sees and one of the more common remarks in reviews.
After a renovation, windows are cleaned last — after the builders have gone and after the post-renovation clean — otherwise dust from sanding settles back onto clean glass the same day. If the work is only just finishing, order window cleaning together with the post-renovation clean: we come once, and the higher rate is charged only for the windows that actually need it.
A streak is not dirt but the mark of a solution that dried before it was taken off. So streak-free cleaning starts with the amount of water: too little and the washer smears dirt over dry glass, too much and water runs onto the frame and comes back onto the pane. The squeegee moves in one pass overlapping the previous one, and the rubber is wiped after every window, because dust dried onto it leaves a mark that looks like a scratch.
The second cause is the water. Krakow water is hard and dries into a white limescale film, especially visible on solar-control glass. For the last pass we use demineralised water, which dries without a trace. The third cause is mundane: old, saturated microfibre. For polishing edges we take a dry cloth for each room rather than one for the whole flat.
The result is checked at an angle, not head on. Glass looked at straight always appears clean; streaks show from the side, against the light, from two metres away. That is exactly how we walk the flat at the end of the visit, with you, and fix what shows before the tools are packed away.
A renovation leaves three things on glass: a milky layer from mortar and primer, paint specks from painting, and adhesive from masking tape and protective film. Each comes off differently and each needs wet glass — dry, a blade picks up grit and drags it across the surface, leaving scratches that stay for the life of the window. That is why the after-renovation rate is 50% higher: it pays for time and care, not for dirt.
Honestly about the limits. Mortar that has set like stone and sat on the glass for weeks will come off only partly — the rest we leave, because more scraping ends in a scratch. Silicone and expanding foam on the frame we do not touch: the solvents that remove them dull PVC profiles and destroy the seal. Glass clouded by cement cannot be cleaned at all: the surface itself is damaged, and no film sits on top of it.
Order matters too. Windows are cleaned after the post-renovation clean, not before it, because dust from sanding keeps settling for hours and returns to clean glass. If you order both, plan the windows for the end of the same visit or for the next day — we will arrange the sequence ourselves, you only need to mention it when booking.
Answers to the questions we hear most often before the first visit.
A standard two-sash window costs 40 zł including the frame, the fittings and the interior sill. A small single-sash window is 25 zł, a large three-sash one 60 zł, a balcony door 45 zł. The minimum order is 120 zł, about three standard windows.
