House cleaning Krakow is a service for detached, semi-detached and terraced houses, where the work falls out differently from a flat. In a block everything is on one level; in a house the stairs have to be cleaned step by step, the handrail wiped along its whole length, and the vacuum cleaner and bucket carried upstairs and back down. On top of that there is a second and third toilet, a utility room, a hall with patio doors and a porch that collects sand from the drive.
The package covers every room on every floor, all the bathrooms and toilets, the kitchen, the stairs with their balustrade, the hall and the porch together with the front door, vacuuming and mopping the floors throughout, and sweeping the terrace and the entrance in front of the house. The garage and the garden furniture are separate add-ons from the price list, and windows are added by type in the “Add window cleaning” block: no two houses are alike and not everyone needs the same scope.
We are booked by families working two full-time jobs who would rather not give up their Saturday to housework, by owners of houses let as a whole, by people getting a house ready for sale, and by those who have come back from a long trip to a dusty house. We travel to every district of Krakow and to Wieliczka, Skawina, Zielonki, Niepołomice and Zabierzów, where most of the detached houses are.

House cleaning prices in Krakow
A house is not simply a large flat. There are stairs, a second and third toilet, a hall with a front door that lets the garden in, and a double trip with the bucket up and back down again. That is why we price a house by heated floor area rather than by the number of rooms. Stairs and every bathroom are in the package. We bring the products and the equipment, travel inside Krakow is free, and you see the price before you book.

Dirt in a house: what comes off and what stays
In a house we meet different dirt from a flat: more sand from the garden, more damp in the bathrooms, pet hair on the stairs and limescale from hard water. Honestly, below: what we take off as part of the package, what needs the neglected-house rate, and what we do not touch.
| Type of dirt | Result | How we do it |
|---|---|---|
| Dust on skirting boards, light fittings and the balustrade | very high | Microfibre dry and damp, working from the top down, including the edges of the treads. |
| Sand and mud in the porch | very high | Vacuuming, the floor washed twice, the doormat shaken out outside. |
| Pet hair on the stairs and rugs | high | A vacuum with a turbo brush and a rubber brush for the rest; long hair needs more time. |
| Limescale on taps and in the shower enclosure | high | Descaler, time to soak, a squeegee on the glass; old deposits come off over several passes. |
| Grease on the kitchen fronts | high | A degreaser chosen for the front, wiped dry so no streaks are left. |
| Shoe and bicycle marks in the garage | high | The garage add-on: sweeping, washing the floor, dust off the shelves. |
| Streaks on the patio door glass | high | Window cleaning in the “Add window cleaning” block, 10% cheaper than separately: glass, frame and the inside sill. |
| Mould in the grout and the silicone by the bath | low | We lighten the surface; mould that has grown into the silicone comes back and the silicone needs replacing. |
| A dried wine stain on a rug | medium | Rug cleaning in the same visit, 10% cheaper; old dyes can leave a lighter mark behind. |
| Soot and burn marks on the fireplace glass | not done | That is a separate job with its own chemicals, and the glass and the seal are easy to scratch. |
| Damp walls and salt efflorescence in the cellar | not done | The cause is in the damp proofing; washing does not remove it and it comes back within weeks. |
| Laminate flooring worn dull by sand | not done | Permanent damage to the wear layer; cleaning does not undo it. |
If the house has stood empty for a few months, or you are coming back from a garden makeover and there is dust everywhere, say so when you book and choose the 'neglected' state. We then plan two people or a longer visit and say plainly what we will manage to do, before we start.
Surfaces in a house: what we clean them with
One house can easily have five different floors and three kinds of worktop. The wrong product dulls the lacquer on the stairs or leaves streaks on stone, so during the walk-round we ask what everything is made of.
| Surface | What we use | What we avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Lacquered wooden stairs | a well-wrung mop, a pH-neutral product | too much water, which gets into the joints and lifts the lacquer |
| Tiled or stone stairs | a neutral product, microfibre for the edges of the treads | acids on stone and scouring products |
| Laminate flooring | a slightly damp mop, quick drying | wet mopping and steam, which make the boards swell at the joints |
| Engineered board and oiled parquet | a product made for oiled wood | all-purpose detergents, which strip the oil |
| Porcelain stoneware and terracotta | an all-purpose product, a grout brush where needed | waxes, which leave the floor slippery |
| Shower enclosure with glass | descaler and a squeegee, polished dry | abrasive sponges, which dull the glass and its coating |
| Stone or quartz composite kitchen worktops | a pH-neutral product | vinegar, lemon and descalers, which etch the stone |
| Garden furniture in wood and synthetic rattan | add-on: a mild product and a soft brush | a pressure washer, which raises the grain and unpicks the rattan |
| Front door and door frames | microfibre, a product for lacquered surfaces | solvents near the seals and the threshold |
Not sure what your floor is finished with? We will check it ourselves during the walk-round, and a new product is always tested first somewhere out of sight, behind a door or under a cupboard.
House cleaning, a flat package or a cleaning lady
There are three ways to get a house done and each makes sense in a different situation. Here are the real differences for a 130 m² house on two floors.
| Criterion | House package | Flat package | Cleaning lady |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | 600 zł for a 100–150 m² house | 375 zł, 5 rooms and no stairs | an hourly rate, 5–7 h |
| Stairs and balustrade | in the package price | not in the scope | usually yes, if there is time |
| Number of bathrooms | all of them in the price | the package assumes one or two | as many as she gets through |
| Hall, porch, front door | in the price | hallway yes, porch no | it varies |
| Terrace and entrance | sweeping in the price | outside the scope | rarely |
| Equipment and products | we bring our own | we bring our own | usually yours |
| Dates and cancelling | a regular day, changes by phone | the same | if she is ill the visit falls through |
| Invoice and payment | an invoice, paid online or after the visit | the same | usually cash with no paperwork |
When to book house cleaning
A house with a garden gets dirty faster than a flat, because sand and leaves come in every time the door opens. A family with children and a dog is usually best served by a visit every two weeks, a couple with no pets by once a month, and a house that is let out is worth cleaning between tenants whatever the calendar says.
There are also moments when a house needs putting straight as a one-off: before the holidays and family arriving, after coming back from a long trip, before photographing a property for sale, after the previous occupants have moved out, and in spring, when the heating season leaves a layer of dust on the skirting boards and the light fittings.
After a garden makeover, a new boiler or building work, book post-renovation cleaning rather than the house package: building dust is a different job, because it keeps settling for days and has to be collected with damp cloths over several passes. If you are not sure which service is closer to what you need, give us a call — after two questions we will tell you which works out cheaper.
How to keep a house tidy for longer
- Put a doormat outside and a second one in the porch: sand stopped at the door is half the dust in the whole house
- Vacuum the stairs once a week from the top down: it is the hardest-working surface in the house
- Squeegee the shower enclosure after every wash, and the limescale never has time to bond with the coating
- Once a month wipe the skirting boards with a damp microfibre cloth, because that is where the dust from the whole room settles
- Check the hood filter and the heat recovery ventilation cartridges as the manual says: a dirty filter spreads grease across the whole ground floor
- Wash or shake out the rug by the terrace door every few weeks, it catches the most sand
- In a house with a dog, keep a towel for paws by the door: it is cheaper than having the rug cleaned after every downpour
Why we price a house by the metre, not by the room
In a flat the number of rooms describes the work well: each room is a similar size, with one bathroom and one kitchen. In a house that stops working. A 90 m² house on one level and a 90 m² house on two floors have the same number of rooms and are completely different jobs: the second one adds stairs, a second bathroom, another run of skirting board and carrying the equipment between floors. That is why we price the house package by heated floor area, with the stairs and all the bathrooms included in it.
The heated floor area is the part you live in: rooms, kitchen, bathrooms, hall, corridors and a habitable loft. We do not count the garage, the cellar, the boiler room or an unheated loft, because we do not clean those as part of the package. The garage is a separate add-on, because it is a different job: building dust, oil stains and things that have to be moved around.
Above 200 m² the package grows by 3 zł for every metre, because there the work genuinely scales with the floor area: more floor to mop, more windows, longer runs of skirting board. An example: a 260 m² house is 750 zł plus 60 metres over the threshold, that is 180 zł, 930 zł in total. You see the price in the configurator as soon as you move the floor area slider.
Regular house cleaning: what a fixed slot changes
The first visit to a house that has not had a proper clean for a long time always takes the longest: off comes a layer of dust from the skirting boards and the light fittings, limescale in the bathrooms and grease in the kitchen. With a regular slot that layer is no longer there, so the same team gets more done in the same time: the fridge more often, the doors and plinths more often, the loft room more often.
A subscription lowers the package price: monthly -10%, every two weeks -15%, weekly -20%. The discount is taken off the package, add-ons keep their own price. The slot is agreed once and we keep the same day and time; a change only needs a phone call.
Anything extra you want done at the next visit goes in the notes on the order: clean the fridge, clean the rug in the living room, add the garage. We price that work from the add-on list, so there are no surprises on the bill and we are not guessing what matters to you.
